Born in Changsha, Hunan Provence, Li Yaping received his BFA and MFA from the Printmaking Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2014 and 2018. Li is highly skilled in the traditional technique of copperplate etching, and his work communicates ideas about identity and interpersonal relationships. He has participated in several curated exhibitions in China, including ‘Evolutionary Tradition – Contemporary Printmaking Exhibition in Asia’, Gallery of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, Chongqing (2019)’; ‘Pencil’, ½ Art Space, Shanghai (2014)’ ‘Once Meet’, C5 Art, Beijing (2014). Li Yaping lives and works in Beijing.
