Born in 1976 in Changde City, Hunan Province, He Jie studied painting at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang, Liaoning Province, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2000 and a master’s degree in 2005. His work has been exhibited widely within and beyond China, including at Centre Artasia, Paris in 2017, Art Taipei in 2014 and the Today Art Museum, Beijing in 2011. Recent solo exhibitions include ‘Historic Landscape’, Triumph Art Space, Beijing (2016) and “Forever Mark’, Triumph Art Space, Beijing (2014). He lives and works in Beijing.
