Liang Quan

Bio

Liang Quan was born in Shanghai in 1948 and studied at the Affiliated High School of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Art (now the China Academy of Art, Hangzhou). In 1983 he was awarded an MFA degree in printmaking from the San Francisco Art Institute. He returned to China to teach in Hangzhou, where he remained for ten years before moving to Shenzhen. Considered one of China’s most important contemporary abstract artists, his work has been widely exhibited in China and internationally. Liang Quan lives and works in Shenzhen.
