Lin Ke
Lin Ke was born in 1984 in Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. He studied in the famous New Media Department of the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou, graduating in 2008. Lin Ke says his studio is his laptop computer, and the materials he extracts from computer software and the Internet are both the subject and the materials of his art practice. As a multidimensional inter-media artist he uses screenshots and screen-recording software in creating installations, video animations and other computer-generated works. Lin was awarded the OCAT – Pierre Huber Art Prize in 2014, and the Chinese Youth Artist Award at the 9th Award of Art China (AAC) presentation. His work has been widely shown within China and internationally. Lin Ke, who is also a founding member of the iconoclastic Double Fly Art Center artist collective, lives and works in Shanghai.
