Bio

Meng Site is a contemporary Chinese painter who was born in 1988 in Shaoyang, Hunan province, China. A rising star, his work responds to the reality and loneliness of growing up as an only child in China. As a member of the only child generation, his adolescence coincided with the peak of modernisation and the development of a market economy. Meng left his hometown at the age of 15 to pursue art in Beijing. Meng attended the prestigious Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing where he completed his BA, MFA, and PhD. He currently lives and works in Beijing.
