Contemporary painter Yu Zhibingyang was born in Chongqing in 1998. He graduated from the Printmaking Department of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute. Yu’s work revolves around a performance troupe in continuous construction. The compositions often linger in those in-between moments—backstage pauses, interludes between acts—where characters quietly drift away from the plot. Within these ever-generating scenes, Yu does not seek to establish a complete world; instead, the viewer is placed in a cycle of transformation, suspension, and curtain call. He lives and works in Chongqing.
