Chang Liang
Born in 1982 in Chaoyang, Liaoning Province, Chang Liang received both his bachelor’s degree and master’s degree of Fine Art from the Department of Oil Painting of Lu Xun Academy of Fine Art in 2006 and 2009 respectively. His surrealist paintings feature dark and disturbing scenes, drawing upon reflections of the drifting and wandering life experienced by many of his generation. After graduation, Chang exhibited in several curated exhibitions in China, including ‘Xiashen Contemporary Art District Ongoing’, Shenyang (2009); ‘Force Culture Space’, Beijing (2011), ‘China’s Future’, Beijing (2011); ‘Alienation’, Shanghai (2014); ‘Awaken’, Beijing (2017); and the most recent, ‘Be-cause of Painting’ , Hangzhou (2019). Chang Liang currently works and lives in Beijing.
