Born in Jinhua, Zhejiang, China, in 1984, Lu Pingyuan graduated from the department of Visual Communication at Shanghai Design College of China Academy of Fine Arts located in Shanghai between 2003-2007. His artworks involve a variety of media, including texts, installations, videos, paintings and more. The notion of ritual is fundamental to his work, a means to interrogate the connections between contemporary art and cultural rites. He currently lives and works in Shangahi.
