Bio

Daniel Lee (Chinese name Lee Xiaojing) was born in 1945 in Chongqing and raised in Taiwan. After graduating from the Chinese Culture University, Taipei in 1968 he travelled to the United States for further study. In 1972 he was awarded a Master’s degree from the Philadelphia College of Art, where he majored in Photography and Film. Lee worked in New York as an art director until the late 1970s, when he began to focus on photography, becoming known from the early 1990s for his innovative combination of traditional photography with emergent digital technologies, which has been exhibited widely internationally in solo and group exhibitions. Daniel Lee lives and works between New York and Taipei.
